Privacy Policy

ScopeBid: Estimate & Invoice ("ScopeBid") is built to keep your business data yours. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with data. Questions: ran.gray.james@gmail.com.
The short version
- No account. No sign-up. No tracking. No ads. No analytics SDKs.
- Your quotes, customers, prices, job history and photos are stored only on your device. ScopeBid does not upload, sell, or share them.
- The only data that leaves your device relates to subscription purchases, processed by Apple and validated by RevenueCat.
Data stored on your device
Everything you create in ScopeBid — quotes, invoices, customers, saved prices, job history, closeout answers, photos and settings — is stored in the app's local database on your iPhone. It is not transmitted to us or anyone else. Documents you share (quote and invoice PDFs) go only to the destinations you choose in the iOS share sheet.
Device permissions
- Camera — to photograph job sites, receipts and paper quotes. Photos stay on your device.
- Contacts — only when you tap Import from Contacts; only the single contact you pick is shared with the app.
- Face ID — optional app lock. Biometrics are handled by iOS and never leave your device.
- Notifications — optional, local-only reminders (quote follow-ups, job closeouts). Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is sent to your customers.
Subscriptions (the one exception)
ScopeBid Pro purchases are processed by Apple. To validate purchase receipts and manage subscription status, the app uses RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives purchase history and an anonymous app-generated identifier — never your name, never your quotes, customers or business records. See RevenueCat's privacy policy. This data is used solely to provide the subscription service and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
Data retention and deletion
On-device data stays until you delete it in the app or delete the app. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on a server. You can export all of your data any time (Settings → Your Data → Back Up My Business). To request deletion of RevenueCat purchase records, email us and we will process it with RevenueCat.
Your rights
Because your business data never leaves your device, you can access, correct, export or delete all of it directly in the app at any time — no request to us required. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and we process no personal data on servers that would fall under the GDPR. Where you have statutory rights (access, portability, erasure, objection, complaint to a supervisory authority), email us and we will honour them, including passing deletion requests to RevenueCat for anonymous purchase records.
Security
Your data is protected by iOS device security (encryption at rest and your passcode/biometrics). ScopeBid adds an optional Face ID app lock. Because there is no server copy, there is no server to breach — but you are responsible for securing your own device and backups.
Children
ScopeBid is a business tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children; the app collects no identity information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
